I’ve used Groggs 3 times in the past 2 months. The first was to install a kitchen faucet and repair a drain pipe. Do you believe almost $1100? Everything worked well but almost $400 for the faucet installation alone. The service was prompt and the plumbers friendly. Then the same pipe leaked. Again plumbers good and charged me a service visit for work they didn’t do thoroughly the first time. Next was last week, a leaking hot water tank replacement for a rental. We cleaned up a flooded basement and I paid $500 to have carpet professionally cleaned and for blowers and dehumidifiers rental. Groggs replaced water tank and dumped dirty water on basement floor. Having the same carpet recleaned. They also dumped crud from tank on my driveway and yard. When called to complain they sent out someone to look. End result was they agreed to remove $125 from charge card. Renter had to clean up the outside and the basement yet again plus the carpet re-clean was $160. Very frustrating and I will not use them again.

Service Call Platinum Client: arrived to find ac running with furnace one was canceling out the other, removed and replaced stat System overall showing signs of deterioration and customer was informed replacement unit might be needed as furnace is approximately 20 yrs old
Service Call Platinum Client- 2015 nordyne mobile home furnace has multiple issues. When gas valve opens for ignition it make an awful noise and sometimes gets stuck and continues making that noise. Also the board flashes low flame sense. The roof jack wasn’t replaced when this furnace was put in. There is a draft that comes in and is causing the low flame sense issue. Estimate repair cost for those two items are $1200-$2000. Furnace is not in great shape overall. Inside the unit is very dirty. I am awaiting a call back from supplier to hear on warranty status and part availability for gas valve. Customer has also requested an estimate to replace the furnace that would include changing out the roof jack with it. Estimate is scheduled tomorrow 3-5.
Service Call Fee: Arrived to find the furnace not igniting. Checked the hot surface igniter and it was bad. Replaced igniter and verified proper operation. Home is warning up nicely. Furnace is 19 years old. Checked the carbon monoxide detector and suggested enrolling into a maintenance agreement.
Service Call Platinum Client- system was having intermittent issues with low heat pressure switch. Checked vent and drain to ensure they were clear. Picked up a new pressure switch cluster under warranty and changed out. System is functioning properly again. Also during investigation I found the transformer for the reme halo had failed. Discarded transformer and wired halo directly to board at R&C to apply 24v and got halo working again.
Service No Charge: Exhaust pipe drain was plugged making the inducer struggle and trip out the pressure switch causing the system to shut down. This causes the inducer to struggle greatly and is likely why it has started leaking.Issues with heat exchanger is causing some blowback from the burner box when the system is igniting.Blower wheel is filthy and is also plugging up the evaporator and heat exchanger.
Performed Platinum Comfort Club Membership Tune-Up on Heating System: cleaned flame sensor, adjusted gas pressure to 3.41 IWC, changed 16×20×1 air filter, good amp draw on inducer motor, high amp draw on blower motor most likely due to previous lack of maintenance. no issues with operation at this time, but may have issues with blower motor in the future. combustion analysis shows safe and efficient operation with 81% fuel efficiency and acceptable carbon monoxide production.
